It’s March — two months after we all made our New Year’s resolutions to get fit and make clean eating a priority. Yeah. Well, the good news is that March means spring is coming, and spring means better weather (a.k.a. running weather), and we’re getting a wider variety of fresh veggies. Sometimes vegetables can be a little uninspiring, but these blogs are a must follow to kick start your clean eating meal plans. They make clean eating look so glamorous and will give you so many ideas to get your meals back on track!
Green Kitchen Storieswon Saveur Magazine’s Best Special Diets Food Blog for 2013, and no wonder, because their recipes are absolutely unique. They are entirely plant-based and meat free. The authors David and Luise are a married Danish couple with a daughter, Elsa. They eat and share recipes made up entirely of whole, unprocessed foods, and fashion them into dishes that are not only mouth watering to look at, but healthy to eat. Luise is studying to be a nutritional therapist too, so you know it’s legit. Green Kitchen Stories really gets you pumped about clean eating because you end up wanting to try everything on their blog.
The foodies over at Minimalist Baker are a husband and wife duo that create simple, stress free and healthy (minimalist) recipes that don’t take ages to make. And if you’re vegan, gluten intolerant, or have any special diet needs, they have a plethora of recipes for you. They use their fair share of kale, coconut oil, almond butter and all that superfoody stuff. And they even provide nutrition facts for their recipes, to not only keep your clean eating on track, but your caloric intake as well.
Kate is the creative foodie behind this blog. And Cookie is her dog. Cookie + Kate give you fresh, vegetarian recipes, using whole foods and wholesome ingredients. She uses honey, instead of refined sugar; whole wheat instead of white; and has a lot of other gluten-free options too. Clean recipes for clean eating. Notably, this blog has a lot of healthy alternatives for those sweet baked goods — while still being sweet baked goods.
Sprouted Kitchen is yet another beautiful food blog that has an emphasis on whole foods and a plant-based diet (though sometimes does pop up!). It showcases seasonal produce in healthy, easy, and delicious recipes. In fact, this blog was so popular that there’s now a Sprouted Kitchen Cookbook. Besides sharing amazing clean eating ideas, the creators at Sprouted Kitchen are professional photographers. So obviously, their pictures are fantastic. #Foodporn anyone?
This is a vegan (predominately baking) food blog — so no eggs, dairy, none of that. Sometimes recipes are gluten free and sometimes raw, but always with the healthiest (possible) ingredients. Just because you’re clean eating doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy desserts! And interspersed with all that food, there are travel posts that pop up now and again, to satisfy your wanderlust.
