3. Icona Pop

This Swedish duo was formed in 2009 but came to light after their hit song “I Love It” was released in 2012. With electro house, pink and indie pop music influences, the duo calls their music something “you can both laugh and cry with at the same time.” Since 2012, Icona Pop has been based within New York City and Los Angeles in the United States.

2. Lykke Li

Lykke Li or Lykke Timoteh Svensson Zachrisson is only 28 years old but has already won two Swedish Grammy Awards and released a sophomore album, Wounded Rhymes, on her own record label LL Recordings. Li’s sound blends the elements of pop, indie rock and electronic with various instruments that can be heard in her songs including trumpets, saxophones, violins and tambourines. Li has claimed influences from artists including The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, and Beach House.

Commonly compared to with artists like Grimes, Jessie Ware and Twin Shadow, Karen Marie Ørsted aka MØ is a Danish singer-songwriter. MØ, whose name means “maiden” in Danish has collaborated with Diplo and Avicii and her recently released album, No Mythologies to Follow is definitely one that deserves a listen.
