We all know about the almighty Shakespeare from our Junior or Senior year of high school, and to this day we probably still remember the hassle it took to decipher every word and sentence. “Oh to be, or not to be, that is the question!” Reminiscing back on it now makes you wonder if you had paid a little more attention, maybe you could have learned a thing or two to tell your friends at your next dinner party.
Although some what he wrote about might make no sense in the present day, there’s a lot of meaning and morals to be learnt from his writing. After all, he is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. As long as you don’t pretend to kill yourself to be with the one you love (and actually end up killing them after) then we see no problem in following some of his beliefs.
Our lives are all part of an act, and throughout our lives we fulfill the roles of mother, father, friend or foe. We have people that enter our lives and leave, and we do the same.
Time is fleeting and we must gain the most amount of experience or knowledge from it as we possibly can, before we die. What is your role in other peoples’ lives? What are other peoples’ roles in yours? Are you taking the time to acknowledge them before they exit the stage?
“Love is blind”. It’s a cultural cliche, because it’s true. Love doesn’t judge based on looks. It comes from the mind, and from the soul. If you love someone, it doesn’t matter what they look like.
On the contrary, lovers often fail to see the fault in someone because they’re blinded by love. Sometimes you should step away in order to see someone for who they really are.
You can only live and die once, so why not live your life to the fullest?
Don’t live your life afraid of dying, because everyday you’re spent living is one part of a finite amount of time. Make your life what you want to make of it. Treasure all the time you have.
Don’t be afraid of greatness or of success; everyone can achieve success regardless of which way they achieve it. Some may be born with it, but others can can earn it. You will eventually find your own greatness in your own way.
Be true to yourself. Don’t pretend to be anyone else, don’t follow in anyone else’s footsteps. Just believe in yourself and follow your heart! Don’t be afraid of what people think, and have the courage to accept yourself.
