We talked about the Vice 3 palette a few days ago and now we are here to put it to the test. How does it compare to the other palettes by Urban Decay?

We worked with 2 looks for 2 different eye shapes both with a pink/purple tone. We stuck to pink because the palette consists mostly of pinks, blues, and neutrals. The easiest looks to pull off were the pinks so we figured, why not do some everyday makeup looks with it?

The results were very nice, but we had to put in a lot of effort because some of the colors were chalky and had a lot of fallout. Vanity was a really nice purple, but it did feel a bit faded out (albeit it’s still really nice, perhaps with other colors). Alien and bobby dazzle had the most fallout, were too dry and weren’t able to stay on long enough. We loved bondage, alchemy and sonic though.

Check out these looks and let us know what we should work with next!

With a very hooded eye/monolid, it was easier to somewhat of a Halo eye makeup with the palette. This is a very colorful look that can be work for a night out or something after work. When you open your eyes, it’s not as dramatic, but when you look down or blink, there’s a very vibrant, beautiful pop of color!

To achieve this look:

  1. First put a primer on the top of your lid.
  2. Put a light coat of alien all over the lid as a base
  3. Using a eye shader brush, pack some alchemy on 2/3 of your eyelid horizontally.
  4. Blend, blend, blend.
  5. Using the shader brush, pack some vanity on top of your lid.
  6. Blend, blend, blend.
  7. We added a dash of bobby dazzle to the brow bone and inner V to brighten the eyes.
  8. Blend that out as well.
  9. Finish off with mascara and eyeliner.

Note: Don’t put any eyeliner or color under an already narrow eye, or else it will make it look smaller.

If you’re having trouble, remember to go with your crease and follow your natural eye shape.

With deep set eyes, it’s easy to pack on the color and show off. The downside is, your eyes will most likely be shadowed and look too pushed back. To bring your eyes forward, you gotta pack on the brightness and chose a fan or a snowglobe type of look! Don’t be afraid of using too many glimmery or bright eyeshadows, as this will definitely make your eyes pop! This is a very summery, girly look that you can wear everyday. Don’t be afraid of using color!

To achieve this look:

  1. Pack on a light color — either alien or bobby dazzle at the base.
  2. Using a eye shader brush, brush on a layer of sonic over 2/3 of your eyelid, vertically, so that inner V is not shaded.
  3. Using a blending brush, pack on bondage and bring it to the outer corner of the eye.
  4. Blend together bondage and sonic, so there’s no harsh edges on the outside.
  5. You can chose to then pack on a little bit more of sonic (if it’s too faded out)
  6. Blend again.
  7. When that looks good, finish off by adding some bobby dazzle on the inner corner of your eye.
  8. Put on your eyeliner and mascara
  9. Using a small crease brush or an angled brush, put some sonic on the bottom waterline

Note: The sonic at the bottom really completes this look! Don’t forget about it!

The trick to this is to evenly blend out everything evenly, and not smudge. Keeping the colors vibrant while blending can be hard, keep practicing! (You gotta do it in one go)
