Do you have some beer bottles lying around? While returning them to the store might give you a few cents, why not convert them into something that you can use around the house! Check out this fun DIY in which we use a glue gun and some paints to give this beer bottle a new look. You can use it as a vase or just display it around the room in different shapes, sizes and patterns.
The supplies you will need:
- Empty beer bottle
- Hot glue gun
- A can of spray paint
- Acrylic paints
- Clean the beer bottle.
Beer bottle labels don’t peel off easy and we found a super easy way to remove them here. We used the method with baking soda and it worked like a charm!
- Hot Glue Gun Patterns.
Heat up the glue gun and draw a pattern of your choice on the beer bottle. We drew on some simple flowers on the bottle. Allow the glue to dry and harden for an hour.
- Prepare for the spray painting.
To avoid getting paint on your table or floor, cover it with cardboard or newspaper and then place the jar on top. If possible, do it outdoors. We used glossy finish spray paint.
- Spray the bottle.
Shake the can well and then spray paint the bottle evenly on all sides. For best results, allow this to dry over night. To avoid paint drips, use thin layers and repeat until the bottle is completely covered in paint.
- Paint the pattern and display!
Use acrylic paints to paint over the pattern. You can put flowers in your bottle or display it on its own.
