This easy to do mango mug cake is a favorite for us. You don’t even need an oven! We’ve seen a bunch of chocolate mug cakes, but we decided to do our own special take on this recipe. If you’re thinking of preparing a quick, easy dessert — this is the way to go. If you love mangos and chocolate, try this out!
What we tried and what we would change: We tried this mango mug cake recipe with the original ingredients but we thought that it would have been better if we used a smaller mug. Try to use maybe a Starbucks mug or something that’s taller. We had to add more flour and egg so that it would fill more. Also, try to eat it as soon as you make it! Microwaved cakes tend to become hard if left cold!
Now, enough from us. Give it a try and let us know how it goes for you!
- Flour – 4 tbsp
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
- Pureed Mango – 2 tbsp (we used red mangos, you can use any!)
- Egg – 3 tbsp
- Milk – 3 tbsp
- Butter – 2 tbsp
- Vanilla extract – 1 drop
- Chocolate chips – 1 tbsp
Step 1: Grease the side of the cup with a bit of melted butter.
Step 2: Puree the mango in a blender.
Step 3: Add the flour and the sugar. Mix.
Step 4: Add the eggs. Mix well.
Step 5: Pour the milk and the melted butter.
Step 6: Add 1 drop of vanilla extract, chocolate chips and mango puree. Add more vanilla if you want more flavor. Mix it all very well so there’s no chunks!
Step 7: Microwave for 3-5 minutes on high. Once the cake stops rising, you can take it out. Run a knife around the cup if you want to change it to a plate!
Step 8: Enjoy! Top with more of the pureed mangos and some cubes of mango. If you want, you can also top it with some chocolate fudge or whipped cream.
