As the seasons begin to change and the cooler Fall weather approaches which means it’s time to change-up our wardrobe (and maybe do a little bit of shopping). While you push your pastels to the back of your closet, be sure to include these colors in the next phase. You may be drawn to darker shades for this season, don’t forget that you can easily pull off-color, while still looking rich and bold as your summer clothes did. During our Fall color series there is only one rule: don’t be afraid. Try new trends, new colors, and a whole new you for this new season!
Fall Color Series Part 1: Aubergine
Aubergine, French for Eggplant, is a trending hot color this season. It’s richness can be paired with simple and neutral colors but just wait until you see what it can do with other vibrant colors as well. The beauty about it, it’s an easy color to act as a base or an accent piece. Below we have three different ways you can style this color with ease.
Aubergine and Tangerine
Since it’s a darker toned color, add a pop of color like Tangerine to brighten up the outfit. Use it subtly as an accent piece so you don’t take away from the focus color. We paired a lose Aubergine pull over with a pair of black skinny jeans to keep the structure basic. We added a leather brown riding boot and a Kate Spade bag for a pop of color (of course, Kate Spade and color makes total sense). Keep the other accessories simple so you don’t take away from the two main pieces.
Aubergine and Navy Blue
Navy blue acts as a subtle yet contrasting color to the rich jewel toned dress. This time, we decided to keep the Navy blue less apparent than the look above. We paired this beautiful Aubergine dress with a knit, off-white cardigan. We kept the cardigan chunky to compliment the finesse of the dress. The hard/soft look continues down to the combat boots and the Fossil messenger bag to add the toughness to the look. The Navy blue fedora and dainty necklaces and ring bring back the girly traits to the outfit. You can add some high stockings if it is a little cooler outside to complete the look.
Aubergine and Teal
Don’t worry! This won’t look as Christmas-y as you may think. Because these two are very bold on their own, pairing them together makes the outfit wearable indoors and out. We kept everything from the camel tones pants and Tory Burch Tote simple to ensure that there wasn’t too many colors going on. We added little black booties with cut outs to put a little character and flirtyness into the outfit. Both the watch and necklace (similar to our Heart of Gold necklace for our lucky 1000 subscribers) are simple to draw more focus to the color of the jacket and blouse.
Stay tuned for part two and three of our Fall Color Series coming up this week!
