It’s officially September, which means to only are the leaves changing color, but the weather is going to start getting cooler (sad face) and the sun may not shine everyday. *Sigh*. Okay, okay, we aren’t too sad because after all the Labor Day sales our wardrobe is ready to conquer. Even though it may get a little gloomy, the third color in our Fall Color Series is sure to give you a boost on dark days.
Fall Color Series Part 3: Mustard
I used to hate the mustard, both as a condiment and a color. Something about it really irked me the wrong way. Alas, this all changed when I tried on a simple pull over sweater from H&M. The color seemed to contrast so well with the other darker colors in the store that it totally won me over. So for the third color of this series, an ode to Mustard.
Stay Comfy and Cozy
There are always days in the Fall season where all we want to do is throw on a sweater and leave the house (yes, you feel lazy). No judgement here. Let’s add a little twist to the simple sweater. Instead of throwing on a pair of jeans, we added leather leggings and a matching black bag to keep some edge in the look. The beautiful Burgundy boot from Call It Spring (see here) gives an extra pop of color to the bottom of the outfit. Make sure everyone knows how confident you are with this look by applying a bold red lipstick. We really dig the edgy necklace too.
Color Block Like A Pro
Who says you can’t pair two bright and bold colors together? Not us! We took this subtly detailed Mustard Tee and threw a royal blue jacket on top. We kept the bottom simple with a black flare skirt to ensure we didn’t take away from the top colors. The silver pumps tie in with the bracelet as complementary accessories to the classy look!
Keep it Classy
For this last look, we are keeping it clean and classy by pairing these Mustard trousers with a clean white blazer (yes, wear white after labor day!) We added an Aubergine bag as a little pop of color at the top of the outfit. The statement necklace brings out the shade in the bag and the trousers. Top it off with a black flat to keep everything nice and consistent.
