Cutouts are a huge trend right now, and what better way to wear this trend than on your nails?! Paired with the geometric pattern and neon hues, this nail part is perfect for us in the midst of summer. It’s a fresh fun pop on your nails, and isn’t too hard to do. Just follow our easy step-by-step tutorial this Manicure Monday, and you’ll be well on your way to rocking these geometric cutout nails.
Start with a base coat.
Protect your natural nails and give that shine for the cutout section of your nails.
Create a triangle with tape.
Place tape across your nail to create something of a triangle shape. Don’t worry if it’s not a perfect triangle – that’s why it’s called geometric cutout nails, and not triangle nails! Start with the lightest color you’ve chosen first, this will make for easier layering if need be.
Gently peel off the tape.
Let your yellow polish dry before pull it off, and do it slowly and gently!
Create another triangle.
Place one end of the tape against the edge of the yellow triangle to avoid ruining it. Fill in that shape with a contrasting color. Peel of that tape once it dries as well.
Create one last triangle, leaving a cutout gap.
You can probably freehand this one by slowly pulling your nail polish brush to connect a corner of the yellow to a corner of the pink. Be sure to leave that cutout of your natural nail in the middle. Cutouts are hot!
Apply a top coat.
That shine is essential.
Enjoy your cool new nails!
