Even though the seasons may be changing, we’re always trying to find ways to keep the summer with us! We’re back with another Manicure Monday to bring you a vampy nautical pattern to keep the summer with you in warm fall shades! Nautical print can be found everywhere in the summer, so we figured why not carry it over into autumn as well? All you’ve got to do is to pick a new jewel tone and this summery print is instantly transformed into the perfect manicure to complement the crisp fall weather!
Apply a base coat.
Tape off the bottom 2 thirds of your nails.
Paint your tips and then peel off the tape immediately.
Make sure to take off the tape as soon as you’ve applied the nail polish to your tips. If you wait too long and let the nail polish dry, it may chip and peel off some of the nail polish that you just applied. And ain’t nobody got time to repaint! We also went back and applied a second coat to darken the color a little bit. But if your nail polish is opaque enough then you won’t have to worry about that.
Cut thin strips of tape.
Line up the tape on your nail and evenly space it out.
Put the first strip of tap right below the nail polish that you just applied. Try to line the tape up with the edge as straight as possible. Put the other two strips of tape immediately below it with about 1-2 mm of spacing between each space.
Paint in between the two exposed areas of tape.
Cover the exposed area of the nail (not the bottom portion!) with your nail polish. If you go over your tips, it’s okay, don’t worry about it! Make sure to peel off the tape before your polish dries to prevent chipping.
Apply a top coat.
Clean up the edges and voilà!
