Mix it Up: Easy Trail Mix Recipes

Let’s start off by saying Happy National Trail Mix Day! (Yes, this mixed-up snack has its own special day.) So, in light of such a celebration, we’re bringing you some fun ways to mix up your trail mix. Eat ’em while at home or on the go whether it’s for a picnic, or a work snack, or when you think, yes, today you’ll go on a hike.

1. Breakfast Baggy


Trail mix doesn’t have to just be a midday snack, it’s also perfect for a quick breakfast on the go. Just toss some cheerios, dried blueberries, raisins, and Chex cereal into a bag. It’s a no-milk necessary type of morning.

2. Sweet and Salty

SweetSaltyDo you ever have those moments where you eat something so sweet, you need to eat something salty right after? Ever had the vice versa situation? This trail mix is the perfect remedy for that situation. Just combine some almonds, cashews, dried cranberries, and M&Ms and then tada!

Why not combine all the amazing aspects of camping into one bag? Even if you’re not out in the woods by the lake, you can carry a reminder of your nature-filled-nights with this trail mix. All this mix requires is some mini marshmallows, chocolate covered pretzels, Teddy Grahams, and almonds.

5. Around the World


If you feel like spicing up your life, try this Asian-inspired trail mix. Just combine peanuts, sesame seeds, almonds, and wasabi peas into your snack. If you’re feeling really brave add some dried ginger to it as well.
