Summer Movie Releases = Panties In a Bunch

movie releases 2014

Movie releases that have us holding our panties…

Something about summer and warmer weather has just got us itching to be the first in line for everything. These movie releases are absolutely no exception. Whether you’re bringing your kids out to a movie night, having a romantic night with le hubby, or enjoying some you-time… this summer has some movie releases that are perfect for any occasion.

Our Round-Up That We Can’t Wait For/Absolutely Adored

 1) Maleficent

How could you not want to watch this (if you haven’t already)? I mean, Jolie’s cheekbones and the costume styling should’ve won you over- but if not, it’s quite the entertaining film as well. Bravo Disney!

2. Sex Tape

Uhm. Sure to be hilarious. I think that’s all that needs to be said. I mean, plus, it’s Jason Segal… and we love him.

3. Hercules

We need to watch this for the fact that: 1) we love Greek mythology, 2) the prior normally involves good looking men for us to gaze at (and we all need that sometimes).

4. Magic in the Moonlight

So we don’t know much about this movie, other than the fact that it will be set in the South of France (swoon) and Woody Allen is writing, producing, and directing it. This formula equates to an insta-hit in our books. We can’t wait to hear more about it and catch the film.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Wabam! Okay, don’t make fun of us. This a great movie whether you are a millennial (who by the way, grew up watching this on TV) or a parent taking their kids out for movie night. All in all, a film perfect for family fun or childhood nostalgia.

6. Yves St. Laurent

Well, we’re obvious style lovers and chasers here. So, undoubtedly, we’re killing to go to YSL made into the silver screen. The backstory behind the greatest stories in fashion are often insight into the fashion that often we take for granted. We’re excited to learn all about it. After all, fashion is an art.

7. Into The Storm

Okay, so these “The World is Ending” movies may seem repetitive and so over done- but we think they’re great. The intensity of the idea of the world ending and the emotion displayed through an event like that will always get us. After all, who knows if something like that will happen in our lifetime (not to be a Debby-Downer or anything).

8. If I Stay

Based on Gayle Forman’s Young Adult Novel, this story of love v.s. life sounds like a heart-wrencher… or at least, a cheesy love story. You need that every once in a while.

9. The Hundred Foot Journey

We’re always keen on those stories of a stranger in a foreign place. This story is no exception. Two worlds, one love (culinary arts), and a whole lot of story in between. Sounds like a fantastic film.

10. The Giver

This is, by far, one of our summer must-watches. Most of us have read the book and sometimes movies ruin the book, it’s true- but to see one of the classics come to life is still something we all yearn for. We are sure that this will be a doozy (plus, the story line is already immaculate).

Which of these have you on the edge of your seat? Did we miss any of your favourites?
