Paris Hilton’s New Pop/EDM Song “Come Alive”

Paris Hilton is hitting the charts this time. She has just released a new single on July 15th called “Come Alive”.

Well you’ve probably heard of the fact that she is (self-proclaimed) to be one of the top 5 paid DJs in the world. Apparently getting her to spin for you will cost you quite a penny — between $100-$150k per hour. From her new single, we’re not sure who is actually willing to spend that much to hear her mixes.

Her new song is apparently inspired by Madonna and designer Lisa Frank. She comments on it saying that “the song is about love and magic. [She] wanted the video to be a fairy tale, an ethereal fantasy world, [where she has] a unicorn, rainbows and pink clouds.” We wonder what these artists think about Paris’s interpretation/inspiration. It may have been inspired by Madonna, but we think that it looks uncannily similar (albeit extremely estrogen-pumped) to Rihanna’s Only Girl In The World video. (Maybe just a coincidence…? Who knows.)

Alright, so if you haven’t watched the video yet, here is the actual link to it from her Youtube account:

So what exactly do we get from this song besides the awful auto-tune and the crazed rainbows and unicorns?

We’re going to say pretty much what everyone is thinking — how did this girl get signed a contract deal? She is proving to the world that people don’t need talent if they want to be rich and famous. Being heir of the Hilton family and great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, she has a lot of money that she doesn’t know what to do with. With her daddy’s money, she’s tried everything from starting her own reality show, to now becoming DJ Paris Hilton.

Let’s see what her meaningful lyrics say about her:

[pull_quote_left]You make me smile
You make me dream
You make me feel alive
You make me dance
You make me feel it
You make me come to life
You make me come alive
You make me feel alive
You make me come alive
You make me come alive[/pull_quote_left]

It goes on, and on, and on. This is going to be influencing the future of the generation. We really hope mothers won’t let their daughters watch this stuff on television. I certainly won’t want my future daughter to be like “Oh I want to be like PARIS!

The only (perhaps) good thing is that at least half of the internet realize what an abomination she is. Out of 1.5 million views as of now, she has gotten 10,888 dislikes on her views vs 12,298 likes. It’s not the greatest but at least not everyone is mindlessly being sucked into this pink-pop-unicorns-and-butterflies crap she’s producing.

Verdict:

This video is not quite pop, not quite EDM, but it’s a whole load of auto-tune (to cover up for her non-existent talent in singing) that makes me want to cover up my ears. By the end of the 3rd time listening to it, I was more willing to go to a Rebecca Black concert than to listen to it again.
