A workout playlist is a highly personal soundtrack that helps you get through your workout, even when working out is the last thing you want to do.
However, what gets you pumped up, might make someone else fall asleep. Some people like to list to punk rock and heavy metal while they lift weights, while others (myself included) prefer high intensity pop music to get their blood pumping during a run. Beyond that, some people might prefer some mellow indie or soulful country music for a long walk, job, or bike. If I’m in a more mellow mood, I definitely prefer to listen to nostalgic music- music that takes me to a different time or place (ie. favourite songs from high school or the 90’s) so that my mind can be transported elsewhere.
We’ve put together some of our favourite songs that have upbeat tempos that are great for getting your heart rate up during your workout. Being that playlists are highly personal, this might not be the ideal playlist for you, but we hope that you are able to take away at least a few new workout songs!
Note: These songs can also double as party songs and beach songs and house cleaning songs. Basically, they can be used whenever energy is needed.
