Snack time is the best part of my day.

If you know me, you’ll know that snack time is all the time! Unfortunately, if you are like me and love snacking more than you like eating regular meals, those calories can really add up.  This isn’t good news for your figure, particularly as we roll into beach season. That’s where healthy snack ideas come in!

I’ve rounded up my top 20 quick & easy healthy snack recipes for my fellow femmes on-the-go! These recipes are tried and true, kid friendly, and certified delicious! They are guaranteed to curb your cravings, satisfy your sweet tooth, and leave you full until your next meal.

1) Popcorn Balls.  These things are so delicious and filling, packing both protein and fibre, but not full of calories!

2) Peanut Butter & Chocolate Dipped Pretzels If you have a sweet tooth, these are for you! You get a little bit of chocolate to satisfy your craving, plus the protein from the peanut butter, you’ve got a pretty healthy little snack!

3) Strawberry Raspberry Smoothies These are sweet and refreshing, and you can easily swap out different fruits and keep the calories low!

4) Toasted Tomato Tabouleh If you have a palette that favours more savoury flavours, this snack is for you.   Tomatoes are in season all summer, and are universally available (and delcious) even in their off-season. It can be served warm or enjoyed chilled!

5) Quick & Easy Guacamole This dish is so creamy and flavourful, and full of vitamins and healthy fats, that you will be feeling satisfied for hours afterwards!

7) Crispy Baked Pita Chips To be served with the above guacamole or with salsa, or even salted and enjoyed alone!

8) Coconut Date Truffle Bites These are so delicious, you won’t even believe that they are healthy! A couple of these little bites are perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

9) Trail Mix A classic snack, but for a good reason! You can mix it up with any flavours you want, it’s easy to eat on the go, and it’s packed with protein and healthy fats.  Add dark chocolate pieces and dried fruits for sweetness, or toss in a pinch of sea salt to satisfy your savoury cravings.  The options are endless!

10) Nutty Whole Grain Granola This nutty granola has a little sugar for sweetness, but is packed with protein and fibre to keep you full for hours.  Enjoy a handful as you run out the door, or a bowlful with almond milk!
