Parks Canada partners with apparel to embody heritage and fashion.
We all know that when a fashion brand partners up with a good cause, it is an amazing synthesis (that often turns out quite well in terms of profit numbers).
Well Parks Canada did just that. They also partnered with mega house Canadian department store legacy, Hudson’s Bay, to do so.
We had the pleasure of previewing the launched collection- and we definitely felt the Canadian pride emanating through the room. To see a country with so much heritage, history, and pride (that’s often down-played) embodied in a project like this was very inspiring.
Canada’s backyard (its parks) are known as the treasures of the country- it’s natural beauty is recognized world-wide. Like many natural landscapes, it’s being jeopardized every day. This collection represents the Canadian loyalty to try and preserve its natural beauty as much as possible. For this reason, proceeds of the profits made from the collections are actually donated to Parks Canada. They’re also made in Canada (and we all know that apparel made in North America is a rarity).
Everything about the collection and the presentation screamed “We love Canada”. There was no one else better to help us understand the vision, inspiration, and direction of the brand’s future, than the creative director himself- Roger Edwards.
If you’re thinking “where can I get my hands on a piece with that cute little beaver on it”, check out the collection here:
They’re available for purchase at Parks Canada. If you’re out of the country, have no fear, show your Canadian pride wherever you are!
