Rachel Sin surprised us all at WMCFW by showing both her F/W14 collection, #RSWORK and her S/S15 collection, #RSPLAY and we loved every moment of it. #RSWORK featured oxblood reds and cobalt blues while #RSPLAY put some mint and floral into the mix. Both collections seemed to be catering to a business woman by day and a woman hitting the town by night.
Rachel Sin’s F/W 2014 Collection
The first collection was clearly more catered to the business woman. It presented itself as an array of tailored blazers, simple dresses, and perfectly cut pants which can be easily worn for work or play. Though the silhouettes seem simple enough, the designer added a unique aspect to step it up. This came through the carefully chosen patterns and textures of the fabrics, to the selected cutouts and zipper detailing on the dresses. Not to mention the sequins pants that looked stunning walking down the runway.
Rachel Sin’s S/S 2015 Collection
The second collection was all about having a little fun in life. Though the business woman is still mirrored within the Rachel Sin S/S15 collection, the colors are more suited for an upbeat, fun spring season. Within the collection, we see everything from a mint skirt suit to an all black jumpsuit (which we want right now, by the way). Once again, Rachel Sin put her unique thumb print on the clothes and emphasized unique necklines and subtle but effective cutouts. Surprisingly enough, the floral fabrics did not overpower the rest of the collection but tied it all together; we could envision the week ending with a fun floral garment on the weekend fo a little fun.
How could we forget that at the end of it all, Rachel Sin came out with a cheek-to-cheek grin on her face. Her clothes are a perfect reflection of her warm personality.
