In case you missed out on what happened on day 2 of World Mastercard Fashion Week (WMCFW) S/S 2015, we gotchu. Here’s a quick recap of all of the shows so that you can stay in the know. We also caught up on some super stylish streets style, because you know, it’s just as cool as the fashion show themselves! Oh! And if you missed out on Day 1, make sure to check out our recap of the day’s events as well!
Elan + Castor kicked off our long day filled with shows. Comfortable and loose silhouettes were seen walking down the runway. Refreshing pops of colors were scattered throughout the collection in hues of blues and pinks. Besides just color, floral prints and whimsical tye-dye patterns were utilized in the designs. The collection was a curated set of separates as well as single pieces that worked well together and could easily be interchanged and mixed and matched to create new looks.
If you’re in need of a dress, then NARCES is the way to go. With a beautiful palette of pastels to choose from, NARCES is far from short when it comes to catering to spring’s needs. From lace to tulle, every luxurious textile that could be imagined was utilized in the construction of NARCES’ dresses that were fit for a princess. Whether the occassion be a cocktail party or a dinner gala, the dresses had us ooing and aahing for the entire show.
Minnie Mouse Presentation
The 6 Mercedes-Benz Startup finalists were ask to create a design inspired by Disney’s fashion darling, Minnie Mouse. At a cocktail reception hosted by Samantha and Caillianne Beckerman, the winner of the 6 designs were announced. You’re going to have to wait for our editorial to find out who the winner was! In the mean time, enjoy the beautiful designs and make sure to tell us which one was your favorite!
We were in for a surprise when a predominantly menswear collection featured a couple of women’s looks. Albeit some of them did appear to be clothed in men’s blazers (remember ladies, menswear is in!), the majority of the collection was designed specifically for the fashionably aware man who wants to put a fresh twist on his wardrobe. Bright turquoises with splashes of salmon appeared throughout the collection to remind us that spring is just around the corner! If you don’t have a man to shop for, we’d recommend purchasing some pieces just to look at! We came out of this show feeling ridicously happy and giddy (and it wasn’t just because of the cute models), and when fashion can convey an emotion, we say buy it!
The beautifully constructed collection of ready-to-wear pieces had us drooling from start to finish. Although the majority of the collection comprised of whites, don’t think that it wasn’t sheer perfection. With immaculate cut-outs in just the right places, the beautiful choices of fabric made up for the absence of color. Her fluid designs also make it extremely easy for any of the pieces to fit simultaneously into your closet.
If anyone knows how to throw a party, it’s Target. A single show was divided into many mini-shows in order to showcase each of Target’s affordably fashionable lines. What started as a Parisian parade through the Spring ended as a party with the Target family. And we couldn’t forget Bullseye! He too also walked the runway with the rest of the models.
