Big news for Cara Delevingne came yesterday, she will be playing the female lead in the film adaptation of Green’s bestseller, “Paper Towns”. She will play Margo Roth Spiegelman and star alongside Nat Wolff who played Isaac in The Fault In Our Stars. As if we needed another reason to love this girl! Not only is she model extraordinaire, she is now fulfilling one of her dreams to become an actress. Here are 10 things you need to know about Cara Delevingne before you join us in her fan club.
1. Her eyebrows are always on point.
No word on if Margo Roth Spiegelman’s eyebrows are discussed in the book but, Cara’s eyebrows are her everything. Girls today want to have the thick and bold eyebrows that she has (no effort necessary). Her eyebrow advice is quite simple really, she says “You just don’t pluck them. It’s really simple. I mean, I do, obviously, a little bit, because otherwise I’d have a monobrow, but it’s just about keeping them wild, keeping them free and woolly.” Okay cool. Thanks C.
2. Joan Collins is her godmother.
As far as celeb godmothers go, Joan Collins is a good one to have! The two often attend events together and Cara is happy to call Collins her godmother and mentor. This feeling of love is mutual. Collins speaks highly of her god-daughter and claims, “she is the most natural and down-to-earth girl you could ever meet. You would never believe she is a top model. I am very proud and I think it is wonderful what she has done.” Awh, so precious.
3. She’s a gamer girl.
She has admitted to playing COD (Call of Duty) frequently. She has a headset and everything which means she interacts directly with other players of the game. For all you fellow gamers, her username on COD is “Caradele” (if you find her, let us know!)
4. Her sister Poppy is a model too.
Cara has two older sisters; one who just happens to be another successful model and socialite. Poppy has appeared on many notable runways and has blessed the cover of Vogue. Eldest sister Chole perfers to stay out of the spotlght.
5. She is besties with super cool celebs.
Cara has quite the lengthy list of A-list celebs as her besties. She’s hung out with Rita Ora, been to basketball game with RiRi, is influenced by Kate Moss, and has taken selfies with Taylor Swift, Kellen Lutz, Kimye, and Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen. So everyone wants to be her friend, including us.
6. Her grandparents were pretty cool.
Her grandfather had a little something to do with a magazine called Harper’s Bazaar (have you heard of it?) back when it was Harper’s & Queen. His wife, was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret. Talk about following in their footsteps, Cara is taking the world by storm.
7. Her back-up plan? Music.
Cara has said on multiple occasions that if modelling failed, she would love to take up music (and acting, but looks like she is already achieving that goal!). What we didn’t know what how incredibly bad ass she is on the drums. We’d come to your show girl.
8. She still had time to design for Mulberry.
Between all the runway shows and Burberry campaigns, Cara still had time to design a collection of handbags for Mulberry. If you haven’t seen the collection we suggest you go look at it. You can even take a quiz to get matched with your perfect bag, which is pretty cool.
9. She trademarked her name.
Being the smart woman she is, Cara trademarked her own name leaving her the only person who can use it for marketing and promotional material. This includes handbags, perfume, and clothing. She also registered her own company, Cara&Co which she hopes to one day sell simple, well cut tops and t-shirts. You go girl.
10. She’s only 22.
After all of this, the super model just celebrated her 22nd birthday last month. Bring it on Cara, we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us.
