Hot Pumpkin Buttered Rum 11

This one’s for all the Starbucks lovers. It is the adult version of a pumpkin spice latte. It takes a bit more effort but it is worth it. Impress your guests with this delectable pumpkin buttered rum.

Things you’ll need:

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • ½ Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup dark spiced rum
  • 3 cups boiling water

Things you’ll need:

  • 3 ounces Candy Cane Vodka
  • 2 ounces Crème de Cacao, clear (no color)
  • Dash Angostura Bitters
  • 2 6-inch Candy Canes

Apple cider is just one of those things that you drink when the weather gets colder. You can prepare some regular apple cider for the kids and then spike yours with some alcohol. Win/win. Just make sure you don’t accidentally swap yours with theirs.

Things you’ll need:

  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 3/4 bottle of gewurztraminer (or other white wine which is not too dry, or you can use even semi sweet one like Muscat)
  • 4-5 sticks of cinnamon
  • 4-5cloves
  • 1/4teaspoon nut meg
  • 1 vanilla bean split lengthwise
  • 3-4tablespoons honey (depends on how sweet the wine you’re using)
  • Cup or so of fresh cranberrries

Gingerbread Toddy

A nice drink that literally tastes like Christmas in a cup. This warm drink will warm your belly and make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Things you’ll need:

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce gingerbread syrup* (recipe below)
  • 1/3-1/2 cup hot water
  • A squeeze of lemon

*ingredients to make syrup:

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
