As we kicked off Day 3 at WMCFW, there was no shortage of inspiration coming from RUDYBOIS‘ debut show. If there was one thing that was absolutely clear on the runway, it was the endless romaticism that was portrayed throughout the collection. The show started with clean whites, transitioned to dramatic blacks and finally added a pop of red to pull the story together while walking runway.

The romantic feeling was further accented by the soft silk fabrics chosen. Clean and simple lines pulled it together to create a truly minimalistic approach to the runway. The lack of jewlery and other accessories furthered this minimal approach and the use of heels and flats created diverse additions to the collection. Together, the soft silks and clean lines created a juxtaposed look meant for a woman who likes to dress simple but still portrays her strong and powerful stance in the world. This was further emphazied through the dramatic eyemakeup and slicked back hairstyles; you know this woman means business.

Unlike many other Spring/Summer collections, we didn’t see a lot of prints, which in our minds isn’t a bad thing. The white on white two piece look wouldn’t have the same strength if it was in prints; the simplicity makes it fabulous and lust worthy. The LBDs were flawlessly tailored. The extra structure on the shoulders created a striking shape to the body. The entire collection incorporated plenty of basics which are sure to become staples in our wardrobes. We could see these pieces transitioning from day to night flawlessly and being the center of attention while we do it. For any woman on the go, the RUDYBOIS S/S15 collection is exactly what you need to go from work to play.
